Yoga First and Spa’s mission is to bring love, balance and positivity into our lives. Taking time for yourself is key to health and happiness. Follow the path of finding balance within.

After an International Competitive career as an Ice dancer (skating), I pursued a career in the health and beauty industry. I graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1996 practicing alongside Toronto Chiropractors as a Registered Massage Therapist. With my background I feel very fortunate to be able to continue my focus on helping people feel better both inside and out. My career expanded after moving to Collingwood in 2000 when I returned to school taking continuous courses in the Esthetic industry. I fell in love with learning and giving Healthy Body Treatments, Professional Facials, Specialty massages and natural Manicures and Pedicures. Its important to me to provide my clientele with professional, up to date services and individual attention so each and everyone will feel special, comfortable and come to relax and rejuvenate.

I began teaching after graduating as a Yoga Exercise Specialist in Feb 2010 and a Pilates Instructor shortly after that and believe in the importance of continuous education to expand my knowledge and technique so I may share with my students. My goal with Yoga First and Spa is to offer and create an environment that allows students to focus on themselves, feeling stronger physically and mentally and to develop self confidence. My Hatha/Vinyasa style and Pilates classes are open to everyone. We spend over an hour together practicing our Asanas ( postures) and Pranayamas ( breath) and Specific Core Exercises in a positive, energized environment free of schedules, demands, deadlines and stress.

I personally have been practicing Yoga and Pilates for over 10 years. My background includes skating internationally as an ice dancer for both Canada and the U.S.A. Prior to moving to Collingwood, I trained competitive skating students as an NCCP Level 3 coach.

Finding Yoga and Pilates helped bring balance to my life. By becoming an instructor I really want to share the incredible journey of healing and self love. I try to make my classes challenging bringing something new to awaken the body and mind. Students are reminded that it’s very important to listen to one’s body, not focus on the person beside you and to push oneself to a healthy place. Proper technique is emphasized with several variations in order to prevent and heal injuries to enjoy a life long practice.

Taking time at the end in Savasana ( relaxation pose) is a very important aspect of my class. This allows the student to completely calm the mind in a peaceful environment. We take about 10 to 15 minutes to centre ourselves focusing on breath and positive feelings. A form of meditation.

It’s important to me that my clients feel completely comfortable to talk to me, call or email me with any questions, comments and or suggestions they may have.

Creating Yoga First and Spa and working with people in groups and privately, brings me much happiness. I truly look forward to our journey ahead.

Yoga First and Spa is looking forward to hosting this Nation Wide Event helping to raise funds and awareness for the Arthritis Research Foundation.  Perhaps you or a loved one struggles with arthritis or one of the related autoimmune diseases.  Arthritis is an umbrella term for over 50 different, irreversible autoimmune conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, vasculitis, scleroderma, lupus and others.

Over 4.6 million Canadians live with arthritis or related autoimmune conditions, and there is no cure.  Support for the Arthritis Research Foundation fuels critical research that helps deliver more personalized, targeted treatments to those suffering from arthritis and autoimmune diseases.  Precision medicine is an emerging approach for disease treatment that takes into account genes, environment and lifestyle to match the right person to the right drug at the right time.  Mount Sinai Hospital’s Centre of Excellence in Precision Medicine for Arthritis and Autoimmune Disease is harnessing this emerging technology to create better outcomes for patients.

Join me for this amazing Power of Movement event as we come together for an afternoon practicing Yoga for a united cause.  Wear comfy clothes and bring a mat. Water will be provided.  If you have questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

   See You On The Mat
